CARPINTERIA CEMETERY DISTRICT IS AN "ENDOWMENT CARE" CEMETERY, SERVING THE RESIDENTS OF THE CARPINTERIA VALLEY-SUMMERLAND AREA
The Cemetery is approximately 157 years old, and was established as a Cemetery Association for the pioneer families of the valley. In 1913, the Cemetery became a Special District Cemetery, formed under the Health & Safety Code of the State of California, and operates under the auspices of the County of Santa Barbara to serve the residents of the Carpinteria Valley-Summerland Area. The District is governed by a Board of five Trustees, who are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Carpinteria Cemetery District is a Perpetual Care Facility and an Endowment Care Fee is charged per burial site. The Endowment Care Fee is non-refundable.
District Mission Statement:
To manage and maintain, Carpinteria Public Cemetery District in a manner that preserves its beauty and dignity, and offers affordable internment service for the district residents of the Carpinteria Valley-Summerland area.
